As part of our advanced notification, I wanted to let you know that we have a security update for RealPlayer planned tomorrow.
The update will address a vulnerability of “High” severity in all versions of Windows RealPlayer; however, users running Mac, Linux, or RealPlayer Enterprise products are not affected.
This advanced notification is intended to help customers prepare to install the latest RealPlayer software when it is released tomorrow, helping protect them from attackers who may attempt to exploit this vulnerability.
RealNetworks recommends all affected users of the above product versions update their RealPlayer software. Real always recommends that customers run the latest version of its software.
We have worked closely with the security researcher who privately disclosed the details of this vulnerability to RealNetworks to ensure that our customers are protected. We will release the vulnerability details and acknowledge the researcher with a coordinated public disclosure tomorrow.
