CeBIT 2006—HANNOVER, GERMANY—MARCH 9, 2006—NVIDIA Corporation (Nasdaq: NVDA), the worldwide leader in programmable graphics processor technologies, today announced that PCs powered by NVIDIA Quad SLI technology are now available from the world’s top system builders. These new PCs, certified for Quad SLI technology, feature four graphics processing units (GPUs) from the of the newly announced NVIDIA GeForce 7900 Series with a NVIDIA nForce4 SLI motherboard – making Quad SLI-based PCs the fastest class of commercially available gaming PCs.i

Designed to enable extreme high-definition (HD) gaming, Quad SLI technology involves the use of four GPUs that are intelligently combined using NVIDIA proprietary rendering algorithms. The graphics horsepower generated in a PC using Quad SLI technology allows gamers to set their monitors to extreme HD resolutions, including an incredible 2560x1600, while still maintaining silky smooth frame rates. In addition, support for a new 32x antialiasing mode, and 16x anisotropic filtering enables stunning visuals and image quality for a truly immersive gaming experience.

"Falcon Northwest's goal is to build the fastest gaming PCs on Earth and there is only one way to make that a reality—by using an NVIDIA nForce 4 SLI platform to harness the power of four GeForce 7900 GPUs with NVIDIA Quad SLI technology," said Kelt Reeves, President of Falcon Northwest, an SLI-certified system builder. "Quad SLI technology is the new Holy Grail for gamers. It doesn't just increase speed, it makes beyond-HDTV resolutions possible at liquid smooth frame rates."

"We set out to make TimeShift as visually cinematic as we possibly could, so naturally we spent a lot of time on the graphical detail and special effects," said Matthew Karch, president of Saber Interactive, creators of the anticipated game TimeShift. "To see our game running on a Quad SLI system at a 2560x1600 resolution with all the graphic detail maxed-out is absolutely stunning and exactly how we envisioned it."

At the foundation of NVIDIA Quad SLI technology is the award-winning GeForce 7 graphics architecture which delivers advanced technologies including full support for Microsoft DirectX 9.0 Shader Model 3.0, enabling advanced shading programs for more realistic effects, and NVIDIA PureVideo technology, delivering a high-definition home-theater quality video experience to the PC. NVIDIA Quad SLI technology is optimized for the upcoming Microsoft Windows Vista, the first operating system to require a dedicated GPU to realize its full potentialii.

"We continue to drive the rapid pace of 3D graphics innovation," said Ujesh Desai, general manager of desktop GPUs at NVIDIA. "By taking SLI technology to a completely new level, we give PC builders the ability to create an exquisitely engineered gaming PC that is in a class by itself."

Certified PCs featuring NVIDIA Quad SLI technology are available for purchase immediately or will be available from some of the world’s leading high performance system builders, including ABS, (US), Alienware (US), Atelco (Germany), Biohazard (US), Cyberpower (US), Dell (US), Falcon Northwest (US), Hypersonic (US), Hyrican (Germany), iBuypower (US), ICODA ( Korea), Komplett (Sweden), Kraftway (Russia), LCDC (France), MCJ (Japan), Multirama (Greece), Overdrive PC (US), Polywell (US), Scan (UK), Synnex-Mitac (Australia), Thirdwave (Japan), Velocity Micro (US), Vicious PC (US), and Voodoo (US).
