La terza release del ciclo di sviluppo della distribuzione Linux Fedora Core 5 non sarà rilasciata il 15 Marzo, come precedentemente annunciato dal gruppo che sta lavorando al progetto, per ragioni "non dipendenti dalla volontà" degli sviluppatori ma il prossimo 20 Marzo. In tale data il package sarà disponibile al pubblico con un numero superiore di novità poichè il team di sviluppo ha approfittato di questo ritardo per evolvere maggiormente la release 3 di FC5.

Red Hat's Jeremy Katz has posted a status update on Fedora Core 5 Test 3. "Due to circumstances outside of our control, we're going to be unable to keep to the scheduled date of March 15th for the release of FC5 and instead are going to have to make the release date Monday, March 20th. While unfortunate in some ways, this gives us the opportunity to pull in the final GNOME 2.14 tarballs which should be available on Monday assuming the changes are suitably minor.
