Con il seguente comunicato stampa, Point Of View ha annunciato la commercializzazione della scheda grafica GeForce GTX 285. Basata sull'omonima gpu di NVIDIA, che è prodotta mediante un processo di fabbricazione a 55nm, la card è equipaggiata con 2GB di RAM G-DDR3 ed, in quanto tale, presenta un quantitativo di memoria RAM pari a due volte quello integrato sugli esemplari di GTX 285 pienamente aderenti allo schema reference.
POV ha conservato inalterate le frequenze operative del core grafico e degli shader, che eguagliano i valori reference, essendo pari rispettivamente a 648MHz e a 1476MHz, mentre la memoria on board è lievemente "downcloccata" dal momento che lavora a 2322MHz, e non a 2484MHz. Il bus tra gpu e RAM è a 512-bit.
Il produttore ha quantificato in €400 il prezzo consigliato all'utente finale.
