AUSTIN, TEXAS -- July 7, 2005 --AMD
(NYSE: AMD) announced today that it is an official technology partner
and sponsor of "Austin City Limits" public television program,
America’s longest running live music television broadcast which airs
nationally on more than 300 PBS stations every week. AMD is also
announcing it is co-sponsoring the Austin City Limits Music Festival,
an annual three-day music festival that is one of America’s favorite
outdoor live music events, attracting an estimated 65,000 attendees per
day.
AMD is already providing the digital audio backbone for the
Austin City Limits television broadcast. KLRU, Austin’s local PBS
station that produces the show, is using AMD64 technology to record
live music and enhance the ACL experience for music fans. KLRU is also
using the same technology to prepare for the move to high-definition
(HD) standards mandated by the FCC for all TV broadcasters in America.
For the Sept. 23-25, 2005 music festival, AMD will sponsor one of eight
performance stages, and AMD64 technology will be used to record live
performances.

The 2005 Austin City Limits Music Festival features a line
up of musical acts that is second to none and is expected to attract
more than 65,000 attendees each day from around the world. The musical
acts expected to appear on the AMD stage include: Spoon, The Bravery,
The Decemberists, Tortoise, The Fiery Furnaces, Bloc Party, Keane,
Rachel Yamagata, The Frames, Kasabian, Mates of State, Kaiser Chiefs,
