Apple ha annunciato iBooks 2 per iPad, con i libri di testo iBooks, una tipologia completamente nuova di libri di testo dinamici, coinvolgenti e davvero interattivi. I libri di testo iBooks offrono agli utenti iPad libri di testo fantastici a schermo pieno, completi di animazioni interattive, diagrammi, foto, video, una facilità senza pari nella navigazione e tanto altro. I libri di testo iBooks possono essere aggiornati regolarmente, non pesano nello zaino e non vanno restituiti alla biblioteca. Aziende leader nei servizi per l’istruzione, fra cui Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, McGraw-Hill e Pearson, distribuiranno i propri titoli didattici sull’iBookstore: la maggior parte avrà un prezzo di $14,99 o inferiore, e con il nuovo iBooks Author, uno strumento gratuito di authoring disponibile da oggi, chiunque abbia un Mac può creare fantastici libri di testo iBooks.

La nuova app iBooks 2 è disponibile da oggi come download gratuito sull’App Store. Grazie al supporto per nuove, incredibili funzioni, come i bellissimi libri a schermo intero, gli oggetti 3D interattivi, i diagrammi, i video e le foto, l’app iBooks 2 permetterà agli studenti di imparare tutto, dal sistema solare all’architettura dei grattacieli, con un semplice tap o sfiorando lo schermo: i libri di testo interattivi prendono vita all’istante. Con la navigazione veloce e fluida, la possibilità di sottolineare facilmente il testo o prendere appunti, di cercare parole e definizioni, oltre al ripasso delle lezioni e alle schede didattiche, la nuova app iBooks 2 consente di studiare e imparare in modo più efficiente ed efficace, come mai prima d’ora.

Anche iBooks Author è disponibile da oggi come download gratuito sul Mac App Store: chiunque abbia un Mac potrà creare fantastici libri di testo iBooks, ma anche libri di cucina, racconti, fotostorie e tanto altro, e pubblicarli sull’iBookstore di Apple. Autori ed editori di qualsiasi dimensione potranno iniziare a creare libri partendo da uno dei modelli progettati da Apple, sfruttandone l’ampia varietà di layout di pagina offerti. iBooks Author ti permette di aggiungere le tue immagini e i tuoi testi semplicemente trascinandoli, e con i widget Multi-Touch si possono aggiungere anche gallerie fotografiche, filmati, presentazioni Keynote e oggetti 3D.

Apple oggi ha annunciato anche la nuovissima app iTunes U, che offre a insegnanti e studenti tutto il materiale didattico che desiderano direttamente sull’iPad, iPhone o iPod touch, per insegnare o seguire interi corsi della materia scelta. Con la nuova app iTunes U, gli studenti che usano un iPad possono accedere al catalogo di contenuti didattici gratuiti più vasto del mondo, ma anche a più di 20.000 app didattiche e centinaia di migliaia di libri nell’iBookstore, da leggere e consultare per arricchire il programma scolastico, come per esempio romanzi per approfondire la conoscenza delle lingue o per gli studi umanistici.* L’app iTunes U è disponibile da oggi come download gratuito sull’App Store.

Apple announced iBooks 2 for iPad, featuring iBooks textbooks, an entirely new kind of textbook that’s dynamic, engaging and truly interactive. iBooks textbooks offer iPad users gorgeous, fullscreen textbooks with interactive animations, diagrams, photos, videos, unrivaled navigation and much more. iBooks textbooks can be kept up to date, don't weigh down a backpack and never have to be returned. Leading education services companies including Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, McGraw-Hill and Pearson will deliver educational titles on the iBookstore℠ with most priced at $14.99 or less, and with the new iBooks Author, a free authoring tool available today, anyone with a Mac can create stunning iBooks textbooks.

The new iBooks 2 app is available today as a free download from the App Store. With support for great new features including gorgeous, fullscreen books, interactive 3D objects, diagrams, videos and photos, the iBooks 2 app will let students learn about the solar system or the physics of a skyscraper with amazing new interactive textbooks that come to life with just a tap or swipe of the finger. With its fast, fluid navigation, easy highlighting and note-taking, searching and definitions, plus lesson reviews and study cards, the new iBooks 2 app lets students study and learn in more efficient and effective ways than ever before.

iBooks Author is also available today as a free download from the Mac App Store and lets anyone with a Mac create stunning iBooks textbooks, cookbooks, history books, picture books and more, and publish them to Apple’s iBookstore. Authors and publishers of any size can start creating with Apple-designed templates that feature a wide variety of page layouts. iBooks Author lets you add your own text and images by simply dragging and dropping, and with the Multi-Touch widgets you can easily add interactive photo galleries, movies, Keynote presentations and 3D objects.

Apple today also announced an all-new iTunes U app giving educators and students everything they need on their iPad, iPhone and iPod touch to teach and take entire courses. With the new iTunes U app, students using iPads have access to the world’s largest catalog of free educational content, along with over 20,000 education apps at their fingertips and hundreds of thousands of books in the iBookstore that can be used in their school curriculum, such as novels for English or Social Studies.* The iTunes U app is available today as a free download from the App Store.
