SUNNYVALE, Calif., November 8, 2005—Fujitsu Computer Systems today announced the sleek and light ultra-portable LifeBook
P7120 notebook designed for professionals on the go. With a cool black
exterior, slimmer silhouette and a 10.6-inch LED lit widescreen
display, the successor to the LifeBook P7010 notebook merges a
lightweight form factor with performance, long battery life and total
security.
Weighing just over three pounds1, the
LifeBook P7120 notebook is the smallest and lightest full-featured
notebook with a built-in, but removable media bay for an optical drive
or extra battery delivering up to 11 hours2 of computing
time. Battery life is also extended with the Fujitsu ECO button, a
proprietary power-saving mode that with a single press allows users to
reduce power consumption for components, including disabling the
optical disk drive or reducing the display brightness.
Powered by an Intel Pentium M Processor Ultra Low Voltage 753 (1.20
GHz) and Intel 915GMS chipset, the LifeBook P7120 notebook delivers optimal
computing power. With a Crystal View XGA TFT display for indoor as well as casual
outdoor viewing, the LifeBook P7120 notebook delivers brilliant colors and crisper
images for enjoyable movie viewing and multimedia presentations.
"The LifeBook P7120 notebook reflects the computing needs of mobile
professionals, particularly the demand for extended battery life while
maintaining lighter weight," said Paul Moore, director of mobile
product marketing, Fujitsu Computer Systems. "Running out of battery is
incredibly frustrating. With a removable media bay to accommodate an
extra battery, along with the new ECO button for reduced power
consumption, the LifeBook P7120 notebook can keep going throughout the
entire day."
The LifeBook P7120 notebook delivers the performance and reliability
mobile users expect from Fujitsu, recently rated tops for reliability
among Microsoft Windows-based notebooks in PC Magazine's 18th annual
Reader Satisfaction Survey.
With the Trusted Platform Module (TPM), a combination of an integrated
security chip with sophisticated data encryption software and built-in
biometric fingerprint swipe sensors included as standard features, the
LifeBook P7120 notebook offers safeguards to prevent unauthorized data
access.
Staying connected when mobile is easy with a seamlessly integrated Intel PRO/Wireless 2915a/b/g Network Connection or Atheros Super AG
Wireless LAN, modem, 10/100 Ethernet and Bluetooth wireless option. The
LifeBook P7120 notebook offers three conveniently placed USB 2.0 ports,
an IEEE 1394 port, S-Video port and High Definition (HD) audio in and
out jacks. Accessing photo or video files is easy via a combination of
Secure Digital (SD), Memory Stick PRO and xD card slots. An available port replicator provides desktop convenience and simplified cable management.
Hard disk drive shock absorbers reduce vibration to ensure higher data
availability and prevent losses. And with an eye toward the future, the
LifeBook P7120 notebook is VoIP-ready, with built-in dual array
microphones and noise-canceling software.
Fujitsu makes every effort to promote environment conservation and
protection. The LifeBook P7120 notebook is RoHS (Restriction on
Hazardous Substances) compliant which translates to a health-friendly
environment.
