August 12 2008, Taipei — This year, Taiwan’s GECUBE has continuously rolled out its GECUBE series of display cards which wowed the world, and performed superbly in the 3Dmark 06 and 3Dmark Vantage to fantastic reviews. The HD4870 series, for the first time ever, utilizes GDDR5 high-speed memory to give users powerful video visual effects. GECUBE today announces the launch of its advanced HD4870X2 series, bringing current display card fever to its peak. This series combines two advanced HD4870 (RV770XT) GPUs that enable superb operation performance and video visual effects. At the same time, GECUBE also launches HD4870 1.0GB advanced series that wholly upgrades video visual effect technologies and 3D gaming effects, giving gamers the most realistic audio and visual experience!

HD4870X2 series is GECUBE’s star product in the middle of this year, and it combines two HD4870 (RV770XT) GPUs, second-generation 55nm chip technology and the market’s fastest and most advanced 2GB GDDR5 high-speed memory. This combination outperforms the single GPU series with its core timing and memory clock performance reaching as high as 750MHz/900*4MHz. GECUBE HD4870X2 series boasts PCI-Express 2.0 interface, superb 24X anti-liaising (AA) special effects, the brand-new, advanced Dual Mode ATI CrossFireX technology and it also supports DirectX10.1/SM4.1 to give users the most realistic and detailed HD gaming resolution. HD4870X2 series also leverages double TeraScale graphics engines, enabling the series to have 2.4 teraFLOPs visual computing effects that astounds users. The number of multi-functional processors also increases from 800 to 1600, significantly increasing overall visual and gaming performance. Users can now experience more realistic gaming environments, as if they are in a theatre.

GECUBE’s HD4870X2 series is embedded with HDCP, HDMI and the 7.1 surround sound feature. It also combines the latest Unified Video Decoder 2 (UVD 2) to give significantly improved performance and speed, supports Blu-ray technology which boasts Dual-stream, picture in picture (PIP) and HD DVD functions. Last but not least, this series’ phenomenal performance is complemented with excellent video and audio playback technologies, once again giving users exciting, animated high-definition resolution, edging video visual art to a brand new era.

This HD4870 GDDR5 1.0GB advanced series, which GECUBE rolls out now, utilizes RV770XT (55nm) chip, PCI-Express 2.0 interface and upgrades previously 512MB RAM to 1.0GB to elevate the series’ core timing and memory clock to reach 750MHz/900*4MHz easily. The series also boasts a latest TeraScale graphics engine, 800 stream processors and supports the latest DirectX10.1/SM4.1, ATI CrossFireXTM technologies, and 24X AA special effects. This combination gives users the latest and most detailed HD gaming resolution, with outstanding and the most complete 2D and 3D gaming video visual technologies. GECUBE’s HD4870 1.0GB series is also embedded with HDCP, HDMI and 7.1 surround-sound features, supports UVD2 technology, combines the latest Blu-ray technology equipped with Dual-stream and PIP capabilities and HD DVD functions to give users the all-time most superb video audio quality and entertainment.
2nd generation 55nm cores are used in GECUBE HD4870X2 series and HD4870 1.0GB advanced series graphics cards. This not offers a boost to performance across the board but also allows the GECUBE to introduce the next generation TeraScale engine. When combined with ATI CrossFireX and DirectX10.1 technology, the graphics card can continue delivering optimum performance of high-resolution imagery even when processing massive amounts of gaming graphics. The GECUBE HD4870X2 and HD4870 1.0GB advanced series includes the latest DirectX 10.1 technology. It offers 32-bit floating point filtering support and breaks new ground in illumination quality with the use of Global Illumination technology, and High Dynamic Range (HDR) illumination are also boosted. The addition of Geometry Shader technology in particular accelerates the processing of 3D effects such as bump mapping. Graphics data can now be cycled within the graphics card itself, greatly improving the realism of particles and shadows. DX10.1 includes Shader Model 4.1 image optimization technology as well as the upgraded all-new 7.1 channel surround sound and the ATI Avivo HD Video graphics technology designed for HDTV and HD Video aficionados, and these allow the GECUBE HD4800 series to present the best audio-visual and 3D gaming results.
