Con il comunicato stampa di seguito allegato, il board maker taiwanense Sparkle ha annunciato la prima scheda grafica al mondo basata sulla gpu GeForce GTS 250 di NVIDIA e realizzata in accordo ad un design di tipo "low-profile" (cfr. le foto seguenti), al fine di portare tutte le prestazioni tipiche della gpu mainstream di NVIDIA nell'ambito dei sistemi compatti di tipo HTPC (Home Theater Personal Computer, ndr).
Le dimensioni della card sono notevolmente ridotte, ove si consideri che il PCB è alto soltanto 6 cm, il che assicura una ampia portabilità dell'hardware. Intorno alla gpu, che al solito include 128 stream processor e presenta una frequenza di clock pari a 600MHz per il core e a 1500MHz per gli shader, sono possibili due configurazioni in termini di memoria locale: 1GB di G-DDR3 a 1600MHz oppure 512MB di G-DDR3 a 1800MHz. L'ampiezza del bus tra il processore grafico e la memoria RAM è a 256-bit.
In termini di I/O, la nuova SPARKLE GeForce GTS250 Low Profile Graphics Card rende disponibili un connettore DVI-I e uno HDMI. Il maker non ha reso noto l'MSRP del prodotto.
