Con il comunicato stampa di seguito allegato, Silicon Image ha reso noto che la nuova linea di televisori 3D LED/LCD proposta da Samsung come soluzione flag-ship nell'ambito dei suoi prodotti di tipo HDTV sarà dotata della tecnologia InstaPort S, che è stata sviluppata dalla stessa Silicon Image.

InstaPort S permette di ridurre il tempo necessario per lo switching tra sorgenti HDMI connesse al televisore dal valore tipico dei prodotti attualmente sul mercato, che è compreso tra i quattro e i sette secondi, a un solo secondo.

Si prospetta quindi per gli utenti dei nuovi televisori 3D LED/LCD di Samsung un minore tempo di attesa quando si cambia sorgente HDMI, passando ad esempio da una Xbox 360 al decoder HD di Sky.
